reach forthed business trips might never be easy, yet at least living on the road doesn't have to be as harsh as it one time was.

Competition for a growing number of business travelers who measure their stays in weeks or month is making the U lodging industry better at catering to their wants

As business travel reverberates from the slump after tribe 11, guests in extended-stay public-houses and corporate apartments are likely to find upgrades in bedding, technology, furniture, kitchenware -- equable art.

Sales executive Mike Maloney, 55 of Overland Park, Kan., who has been taking business trips for nearly a quarter centenary says accommodations have improved. Still, earning a living forward the road is no easy life.

"You come by tired of not being able to have a certain quantity of place you can kind of call home" says Maloney, a sales executive.

The number of continueed business trips is soaring as the economy expands, companies submerge and the government spends billions upon homeland security, says Peggy Berg, president of the Highland Group

Extended-stay inns such as Marriott's Residence Inns and Hilton Homewood Suites cater to visitors who stay at least five nights. Corporate apartments, as it is as the 20,000 units move swiftly by Oakwood, cater to those who stay at least pair months.

Value is a main selling point for corporate apartments, limiting the amenities available to business travelers. on the other hand Gavan James, Oakwood's general manager, says competition is pushing his residences to improve.

James says "the bar just retains getting raised," because the tavern industry has rolled out massive upgrades. At the same time, consultant Berg says, long-term business travelers are becoming more discriminating.
